Vernoemd naar de kunstschilder Anton Mauve en midden in kunstenaarsdorp Laren, maakt dat kunst onlosmakelijk verbonden is met Brasserie & Bar Mauve. We werken dan ook met veel plezier samen met galeries en kunstenaars van wie het werk bij ons te bewonderen en te koop is.

Joëlle Wehkamp

Joëlle Wehkamp (1982) is a Dutch artist and designer, living with her husband and three children surrounded by nature just outside of Amsterdam. Her driving spirit not only comes from celebrating life, but from creating beautiful handmade things and doing that in all sorts of ways: whether it is designing, painting, drawing or making pottery.

Joëlle's work is characterized by colourful, figurative illustrations, art, prints and products. Her love for joyous creating is brought to life by the use of different kind of art techniques and making enticing colour combinations—her work springs into vivid relief by the use of paint, paper, pencil and the creative play with colours, textures, and patterns. 

Joëlle creations bring a splash of lightness to the day and she easily transmits this sunny-side-up-feeling to prints and lifestyle products.

Joëlle has worked with numerous qualitative companies and brands world wide which has added to her vast, wide-ranging experience—she knows how to translate a handmade and playful feeling to a commercial product without loosing its authenticity. Clients enjoy collaborating with her professional, swift and enthusiastic work attitude. As a result, her fun and handmade designs and patterns can be found all over the globe.

When Joëlle is not working on commissioned projects she creates paintings and ceramics, she works on inspiring projects and concepts, or just simply enjoys life.

Raphael Hermans

Raphaël Hermans (Maastricht, 1974) combineert op een gepassioneerde manier zijn twee grote liefdes: beeldende kunst en muziek. Hij groeit op in een artistiek gezin waar alle ruimte is voor creativiteit. Raphaël wordt dan ook al jong gestimuleerd om zijn dubbeltalent volledig te ontwikkelen. Sinds 2008 is hij in beide metiers actief; als veelgevraagd bassist en als beeldend kunstenaar wiens werk in vele particuliere- en bedrijfscollecties is te vinden. Op geheel eigen wijze weet de kunstenaar zijn inspiratie voelbaar te maken. Of het nu gaat om schilderijen, collages of beelden, in Raphaëls kunst worden bondige composities verrijkt met kleuren die niet hoeven te schreeuwen om opgemerkt te worden. Qua thematiek houdt Raphaël van tegenstellingen. Gevoelens van spanning en liefdevolle geborgenheid zijn soms in een en dezelfde compositie terug te vinden.

Raphael heeft speciaal voor Mauve een tribute aan Anton Mauve, de Larense kunstschilder gemaakt. In verband met de aanstaande re-styling van Bar Mauve wordt dit unieke doek voor € 3500 te koop aangeboden.

NICOLAS BETS 

Picnic in the Park is een print van modefotograaf Nicolas Bets. De print die te zien is bij Brasserie & Bar Mauve is gelijmd op 3mm aludibond en ingelijst achter 3mm acrylglas, afmeting 100 cm x 150 cm.

OVER DE fotograaf

Modefotograaf Nicolas Bets woont en werkt in Parijs. Hij werd geboren in België en verhuisde op zijn zeventiende naar Parijs met de ambitie om net als zijn moeder artistiek fotograaf te worden.
Hij werkte met verschillende beroemde fotografen en leerde van hen veel vaardigheden, vooral met betrekking tot geënsceneerde modefotografie en de combinatie van timing, details en humor. Zijn foto’s zijn uitnodigend, een ode aan kleur en tonen een ware beheersing van alle soorten locaties: van de studio’s tot de woestijn, van het zwembad tot het interieur, Nicolas ‘speeltuin’ heeft geen grenzen. Hij weet precies hoe hij juist die onverwachte en ongebruikelijke invalshoek moet vastleggen. De juiste blik, de juiste beweging, alles klopt. Grote klasse met een grote knipoog.
